Behind every great brand or company lies the people who make it such. This month we are excited to introduce you to one of our very own super-stars, Maria Chan. Find out a bit more behind what makes this Mi9 brand ambassador tick.
Maria has been in the media industry for a just over three years. She started her career with 1st Screen and prior to being in media, she was in retail for over eight years. She says that this where she gained invaluable customer service experience, and this was instrumental in helping her transition into media and further develop her career at Mi9.
Let’s get to know Maria Chan a bit better…
How long I have been at Mi9?
I have joined Mi9 in February 2018, and have been with the team for over two and a half years. Throughout my time with Mi9, I was fortunate to develop and grow in my role. I started as a campaign coordinator, moving onto become an account manager and last year I was promoted to Business Development Manager.
What does a Business Development Manager do?
Very simply, as a BDM my role is to develop strong relationships with media agencies and direct advertisers in order to help the client’s digital media buying. I do this by providing solutions that fit the client’s need across the Mi9 publisher network of Microsoft, ViacomCBS and Dailymotion.
What has been one of your biggest accomplishment?
I was really honoured to become a Finalist in the Junior Ad-Ops Person of the Year in 2019 IAB NZ awards for my time as an Account Coordinator from January to August 2018.
What does the future look like for you in this role?
The media industry is all about relationships and my biggest focus now and into the future at Mi9 is to build the brand into one of the best and leading publishers for customer service and customer experience. Ultimately, I would like to see new and existing clients coming back to Mi9 because they know that this is where they will find not only best product solutions in market but also service to match.
